Butterfly Survey in Willow Wood

Huge thanks to Pete Thompson, former Chairman of RHS Thames & Chilterns in Bloom, who kindly undertook a butterfly survey (count) in Willow Wood on Wednesday. With butterflies in abundance, at this wonderful location, it was no surprise that 11 different species (and a moth) were identified –

Green-veined White, Meadow Brown, Small White, Marbled White, Essex Skipper, Gatekeeper, Small Heath, Large White, Small Skipper, Painted Lady, Small Tortoiseshell and Six-spot Burnet.
