We are pleased to report that the results of the regional (Thames and Chilterns in Bloom) and national (Britain in Bloom) competitions have been announced. It gives us great pleasure to reveal that Amersham has been awarded the following:

Thames and Chilterns in Bloom Community Awards

Amersham received an Excellent Award, the highest accolade, in four categories – Conservation and Wildlife (two awards for tree planting and pollinators), Covid Recovery, and Working with Children and Young People – as well as Gold for the Memorial Gardens.

Britain in Bloom

We picked up Outstanding (the top national award) in two categories – Green Solutions (tree planting projects) and Nature Friendly Gardening (pollinators). This is an incredible achievement – even more so when you consider that only 18 towns or villages throughout the whole of the UK picked up a top award! Amersham joined an exclusive club, along with Penrith and Randalstown, to achieve two outstanding awards – a very special accolade.

Needless to say the Town Council (staff and Councillors) are extremely proud of the Amersham in Bloom team – the Town Council depot, bloom volunteers, the leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group, Stony Dean School and all of our partners.

It has proved another fantastic year- thank you for your support.
