A New Legend on the Bench for Amersham

A new bench was unveiled today at Woodside Close, offering a place for reflection, comfort and hope for anyone affected by suicide, mental health challenges or the loss of a loved one.
The bench was officially unveiled by Micky Hazard, Ambassador for Legend on the Bench, who was joined by Trustee Laura Gilbey, Town Mayor Cllr Martin Day, representatives of Amersham Town Council, Samaritans and members of the local community.
The bench features helpline numbers and QR codes linking directly to 24/7 crisis support services, ensuring help is always within reach. Its built-in lighting acts as a gentle beacon of hope, reminding people that even in the darkest moments, someone is there to listen.
The project was made possible through a partnership between Legend on the Bench, Amersham Town Council and Samaritans, with generous donations from local residents, funding from Samaritans and a significant contribution from former Mayor Cllr Dominic Pinkney’s Mayor’s Fund.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this meaningful project to our community.
