Amersham celebrates success at the Regional Bloom Awards

September 27, 2026

We’re delighted to share the results from yesterday’s RHS Thames & Chilterns in Bloom Regional Awards, following the presentation in Woodley.

Amersham was awarded Gold in the Town category and was also named Best Town in the region, following strong competition from across the area, including Henley-on-Thames.

The Memorial Gardens were also awarded Gold, recognising the work that goes into keeping them looking their best.

There was also a very special award for Amersham as a whole – the regional WOW (Visual Impact) Award.

The judges commented that their tour of Amersham included “many wows” throughout, and said the standard they saw is rarely seen in public spaces. This reflects the huge amount of work that goes on across the town throughout the year.

The Woodside Road Allotments were also awarded Thriving, recognising the work and effort that goes into making the allotments such an important community space.

“I would like to thank the Town Council team first and foremost for all their hard work in funding, coordinating and delivering the Bloom programme throughout the year, and our Bloom volunteers who work in partnership with the Council, supporting our efforts and giving so much of their time to help keep the town looking so good.

I’d also like to thank the talented leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group, and the many community groups, schools and local businesses who have supported our efforts. A particular thank you to Veolia, who once again have been fantastic supporters of Bloom.

There are so many people who help make Amersham look its best, and these awards recognise everyone’s efforts. Thank you to everyone who has played their part.”~ Steve C
