Coronation Clock at the Memorial Gardens

August 11, 2023

As part of our efforts to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and to add a new display, we are pleased to have installed a ‘coronation clock’ in the Memorial Gardens.

Working in conjunction with Andy Honour and the leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group, the illuminated clock, complete with crown and soon to be planted tower, is an impressive piece, standing at the same height as the lone soldier.

The border beneath the clock will be planted over the next week, with the tower planted soon after. It stands on the former site of the HMS Dreadnought which will be relocated to the borders in spring.

Our gratitude to perennial partner Andy, Jon Dyas and the ever committed scout leaders, our own Amersham Town Council depot team for laying the foundations, clockmaker As Time Goes By and also the Amersham & Villages Community Board for match funding the project.

How can we help you?
