Children’s Art Trail: New Additions

In 2024, the Children’s Art Trail was launched, bringing art to the landscape by showcasing various installations throughout Amersham-on-the-Hill and Old Amersham, including willow, wooden and metal sculptures, painted murals, and our flagship horticultural displays. All of the features have been created in partnership with local artists and designers.

This year, four more utility boxes have been painted (Sheepfold Lane, The Rise, and two at Woodside Close) and a wildflower sculpture was installed on the corner of Stanley Hill/Stanley Hill Avenue.

Since then, other features have been added to the trail, including a new stag sculpture on Sycamore Corner, an English Rose display on the verge at Station Road/London Road East junction, and multiple painted communications boxes. To honour these additions, a new map has been created.

Two new features have also been added to the Memorial Gardens: a 3D badger mosaic, created by students from The Beacon in collaboration with Colin Pells (who built the structure from recycled materials), and a poppy mural on the tea hut doors.

A printed map is available from the Town Council office (Flint Barn Court, Church St, Old Amersham), the tea hut in the Memorial Gardens, and from the red telephone box on Hill Avenue. You can also download a copy below. [Please note that the map hasn’t yet been updated with the new features.]
