New Wildflower Sculptures

Two weeks ago, a selection of wildflower sculptures were installed on the verge at the junction of Stanley Hill and Stanley Hill Avenue.

These sculptures form part of the Children’s Art Trail, which also includes painted utility boxes, willow sculptures, features in the Memorial Gardens, and many other pieces of art created by local residents.

The display has been created and installed in partnership between the Town Council and the leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group. It has been created at no cost to the residents, using funds raised over the past three months through the sale of the metal bees and butterflies.

These metal flowers have not been created to replace real flowers, but to complement the floral displays we already have. In fact, since February, we have planted an additional 1,000 pollinator-friendly perennials in Amersham, reflecting our commitment to providing nectar-rich, bee-friendly planting and supporting local biodiversity.

We hope to add more metal flowers over the coming months as additional funds are raised. And, with our fingers crossed for a good downpour of rain, we also hope our natural wildflowers will receive the boost they need to flourish.

These unique sculptures are about celebrating the creativity of our community alongside the natural beauty of our green spaces, and we hope they bring enjoyment to residents and visitors alike
