New Native Hedgerow For Stanley Hill Cemetery/Willow Wood

February 24, 2023

Today we were joined by pupils from Woodside Junior School and Stony Dean School to plant the first stage of a new native hedgerow at Stanley Hill Cemetery/Willow Wood. It is hoped that in years to come the hedge will provide navigation for bats and a nesting site for many species of wildlife.

Thank you to all pupils and the council depot for your hard work and enthusiasm. It’s always a pleasure to see children and young people so engaged with the natural world and creating a legacy for the future.

Thanks also to TCV – The Conservation Volunteers for providing the trees as part of their tree planting programme that supports OVO Energy’s Planting Promise ‘I Dig Trees’.

How can we help you?
