A new playground at Hervines Park!
We are delighted to confirm that the project to replace and enlarge the playground at Hervines Park will commence on 10th March. The design of the new equipment was chosen after extensive public consultation, with the most popular design being selected. The new playground will incorporate inclusive play equipment to suit all abilities, as well as picnic benches and additional landscaping. The main project is being funded by the town council’s reserves, supplemented by a £20,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, which is being used to purchase some of the inclusive play equipment.
The existing playground will be closed from 10th March for our depot team to start dismantling the play equipment and prepare the site. The contractor will start the installation work on 31st March, with the playground re-opening by the middle of May.
