Woodside Community Allotment

Woodside Community Allotment—a collaboration between Amersham in Bloom, Discovery Sprouts and Joley Makes—comprises a wildlife pond, dead hedge, dead fence, bug hotel with living (wildflower) roof and hedgehog house, accessible planters and flooring, and numerous areas for growing and encouraging biodiversity. Stony Dean School, Alfriston School and Woodside Junior School have been pivotal in the development of the plot.

This year, we have been awarded a grant by the National Garden Scheme to develop a second plot. Work is already underway, with the support of Stony Dean School and our new Little Bloomers group. Once complete, the plot will comprise a large polytunnel, allowing us to propagate and overwinter plants, as well as grow more for the Grow to Give scheme and enable year round sessions under cover.

We run a number of pre-bookable, managed sessions, as follows:

Spud Club

Spud Club is a term-time gardening club for children aged 4 and under. The current term finishes on 20th October and will resume in March (date tbc). Sessions can be booked here: www.bookwhen.com/amershaminbloom

Schools/nurseries/community groups

If you would like us to run some sessions for your school, nursery or community group, please get in touch. We are particularly keen to support those with additional needs and children who struggle in classroom environments.

While we are working on making the site fully wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible, please note that it is not yet suitable for those with mobility needs.
