Woodside Community Allotment
Woodside Community Allotment (Woodside Road, Amersham) is a managed site run in partnership with Amersham in Bloom, Discovery Sprouts and Joley Makes.
The original plot comprised a wildlife pond, dead hedge, dead fence, accessible planters and flooring, and numerous areas for growing and encouraging biodiversity. Stony Dean School, Alfriston School and Woodside Junior School were pivotal in the development of this site.
This year, we are expanding, having acquired two additional plots, one of which is currently in development using a grant by the National Garden Scheme. Once complete, the latter will comprise a large polytunnel, allowing us to propagate and overwinter plants, as well as grow more for the Grow to Give scheme and enable year round sessions under cover. The original plot will be relinquished once all of the storage, planters and equipment has been relocated to the new, much larger site. We are very excited to see how this new site develops!
Note: While we are working on making the site fully wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible, please note that it is not yet suitable for wheelchairs/scooters.
We run a number of managed sessions, as follows:
Spud Club
Spud Club is a term-time gardening club for children aged 4 and under. Sessions run on Mondays 9.30-10.30, and can be booked at www.bookwhen.com/amershaminbloom or below.
Bloom & Brew coffee mornings
New for 2026, our Bloom & Brew coffee mornings will run on Wednesdays 9.30-11 (term time only). These sessions are open to anybody who wants to enjoy the fresh air, have a good natter and a brew, and likes to get stuck in! No need to book, just drop in. Do join the WhatsApp group for session/cancellation updates by clicking here. If the link doesn’t work, please message Michelle on 07787 407771 who will add you to the group.
Schools/nurseries/community groups
If you would like us to run some sessions for your school, nursery or community group, please get in touch. We are particularly keen to support those with additional needs and children who struggle in classroom environments.
Note: While we are working on making the site fully wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible, please note that it is not yet suitable for wheelchairs/scooters.
