The Mayor’s Charity 2021

July 23, 2021

Each year the Mayor of Amersham chooses a local charity that he or she would like to support to help make a difference to the local community. Funds raised at local events that year are then donated to the Mayor’s charity.

The Mayor of Amersham, Cllr Mark Roberts recently invited suggestions from the public and received a great response with people putting forward so many worthwhile causes, and is pleased to announce the following –

“The charity I’ve selected to support over the coming year is Restore Hope Latimer. Restore Hope helps families and young people who are facing challenging situations. They offer a range of support, training and education services from their 360 acre site, primarily to families in Amersham and Chesham.”

“Over the last year, they launched Foodlife, which supports hundreds of families affected financially by covid, job loss and furlough. It addresses physical, practical and emotional needs with food boxes, and education and support at their Hope Café. Amersham Town Council also has a connection in that we are both partners of Stony Dean School, a school for students with special educational needs and disabilities, providing work experience opportunities.”

“I’m pleased to offer my support to this amazing initiative, and over the coming year you will hear more about their work and how you can support fundraising.”
