The Purple Crocuses In Amersham

March 8, 2021

It is great to see all the purple crocuses popping up around town. You may recall over 9000 crocus corms were planted as part of a joint project with our friends at Rotary in Amersham last autumn.

The purple crocus is a symbol of the campaign by Rotary throughout the world to finally eradicate polio. So as well as looking lovely it is hoped that the crocuses will raise awareness of the campaign.

Huge thanks to Stony Dean School and the bloom volunteers who helped the Town Council plant the bulbs.
